The weekly event, Bazm-e-Sultan-ul-Ashiqeen, takes place at Khanqah Sultan-ul-Ashiqeen and welcomes people from all over the country who seek spiritual guidance and enlightenment from Sultan-ul-Ashiqeen, the 31st spiritual leader of the Sarwari Qadri Order.
This spiritual order began with the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and was passed to Hazrat Ali (RA). It has been carried forward by great saints like Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jilani (RA), Sultan Bahoo (RA), Sultan Asghar Ali (RA), and now Sultan-ul-Ashiqeen.
The event follows a simple program that includes recitation of the Holy Quran, praises for the Holy Prophet (PBUH), a moral speech, prayers (Dua), and the sharing of food (Langar).
The purpose of this gathering is to cleanse the heart, remove spiritual flaws, and guide participants on the path of Faqr. Faqr is the essence of Islam and means connecting deeply with Allah, which is only possible with the help of a true spiritual guide (Murshid Kamil).
