Lahore — 19 March 2026: Today, 29th Ramadan 1447 AH, marks one of the most spiritually significant days in the Sarwari Qadri order — the birth and death anniversary of Sultan-ul-Tarikeen, Hazrat Sakhi Sultan Syed Mohammad Abdullah Shah Madni Jilani (Rehmat-ul-Allah Alayh), the 26th spiritual guide of the Sarwari Qadri order and the direct spiritual successor of Sultan-ul-Arifeen Hazrat Sakhi Sultan Bahoo.
The day of 29th Ramadan holds extraordinary importance in the life of this great saint. He was born on this very night in 1186 Hijri (24th December 1772 AD) in the blessed city of Madina Munawwara, and he also departed from this world on the same date — 29th Ramadan 1276 Hijri (20th April 1860 AD) — in Ahmadpur East, Bahawalpur.
A Saint Born in the City of the Prophet ﷺ
Sultan-ul-Tarikeen was a direct descendant of the Holy Prophet Muhammad ﷺ through the lineage of Ghaus-ul-Azam Hazrat Shaikh Abdul Qadir Jilani. From childhood, his blessed forehead radiated Divine light, and his grandfather would say: “One day this child will shine on the skies of sainthood.” He memorized the entire Holy Quran by the age of twelve and spent his early life in intense spiritual yearning and search for the Divine Truth.
A Lifelong Journey Towards Faqr
Driven by an unquenchable thirst for Divine proximity, Sultan-ul-Tarikeen spent twelve years in devoted service at the sacred tomb of the Holy Prophet ﷺ, seeking the heritage of Faqr. Upon the command of Prophet Mohammad ﷺ in a blessed vision, he embarked on a remarkable spiritual journey — from Madina to Baghdad, where he received the spiritual training of Ghaus-ul-Azam Hazrat Shaikh Abdul Qadir Jilani — and ultimately reached the sacred shrine of Sultan-ul-Arifeen Hazrat Sakhi Sultan Bahoo, where the Divine Trust of Faqr was formally transferred to him.
A Hidden Saint of Allah
True to his title “Sultan-ul-Tarikeen” — the King of those who abandon the world — he shunned all worldly fame, power, and status. He settled in Ahmadpur East, Bahawalpur on the order of Sultan Bahoo, where he guided thousands of seekers of Allah toward Divine proximity through the invocation and contemplation of Ism-e-Allah Zaat, purifying their hearts and illuminating their souls with the light of Faqr.
Renovation of His Sacred Shrine
For decades, the spiritual beneficence from his sacred shrine had been concealed. It was Sultan-ul-Ashiqeen, Hazrat Sakhi Sultan Mohammad Najib-ur-Rehman Madzillah ul Aqdas — the 31st and present spiritual guide of the Sarwari Qadri order — who, after meticulous research, authored the biography of Sultan-ul-Tarikeen and undertook the complete renovation of his sacred shrine in 2012, modeled upon the architecture of the shrine of Sultan Bahoo. Through his blessed efforts, the spiritual beneficence of Sultan-ul-Tarikeen was once again made accessible to seekers of Allah across the world.
On this blessed 29th Ramadan, Tehreek Dawat-e-Faqr pays its deepest respects and heartfelt salutations to Sultan-ul-Tarikeen, Hazrat Sakhi Sultan Syed Mohammad Abdullah Shah Madni Jilani (Rehmat-ul-Allah Alayh), and prays that his boundless spiritual beneficence continues to illuminate the hearts of all sincere seekers of Allah.
