Lahore — 17 March 2026: As the blessed month of Ramadan Kareem comes to its end, Tehreek Dawat-e-Faqr reminds all Muslims about the importance of Sadqa-e-Fitr — a compulsory act of charity in Islam before the prayer of Eid-ul-Fitr.
What is Sadqa-e-Fitr? Sadqa-e-Fitr is a mandatory charity that every Muslim must give on behalf of themselves and their family members before the Eid prayer. It was made obligatory by the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ to purify the fasting person from any shortcomings during Ramadan and to bring joy to the hearts of the poor on the day of Eid.
Why is it Important? Sadqa-e-Fitr ensures that every Muslim, rich or poor, can celebrate Eid with happiness and dignity. It is a beautiful reminder that Islam never leaves the needy behind, especially on a day of celebration.
When to Give? It must be given before the Eid-ul-Fitr prayer. Giving it early allows the poor to benefit from it on the day of Eid.
May Allah accept our fasting, prayers, and charity this Ramadan. Ameen.
