Lahore — 27 March 2026: Among the most luminous personalities in the history of the Sarwari Qadri order stands Sultan-ul-Faqr VI, Hazrat Sakhi Sultan Mohammad Asghar Ali (Rehmat-ul-Allah Alayh) — a man whose sacred life was the living proof of Faqr, Divine love and the unbroken spiritual chain of Prophet Mohammad ﷺ. His life and teachings have been preserved with love and precision by his spiritual heir and confidant, Sultan-ul-Ashiqeen, Hazrat Sakhi Sultan Mohammad Najib-ur-Rehman Madzillah ul Aqdas, in the book Sultan-ul-Faqr VI — Life and Teachings.
A Soul Chosen Before Eternity
Sultan Mohammad Asghar Ali was born on Friday, August 14, 1947, in Samundari, Garh Maharaja, District Jhang. His lineage traces directly back to Sultan-ul-Arifeen Hazrat Sakhi Sultan Bahoo. From birth, his blessed face radiated Divine light and his father and Murshid Sultan Mohammad Abdul Aziz affectionately called him “Chan” — the moon — recognising the extraordinary Noor that shone from him.
He was stationed at the supreme spiritual rank of Sultan-ul-Faqr since pre-eternity. Hazrat Sakhi Sultan Bahoo described these seven Sultan-ul-Faqr souls in Risala Roohi Sharif as souls who neither saw anything except the Divine Essence since pre-existence, whose steps are upon the heads of all Saints, Ghaus and Qutbs, and about whom it is absolutely correct to call them Allah.
A Life Devoted to Ishq of Murshid
One of the most remarkable aspects of Sultan Mohammad Asghar Ali’s life was his unparalleled love for his Murshid. He sold his car to buy a generator for his Murshid’s comfort in the desert heat. He spent sleepless nights ensuring his Murshid’s tea was never delayed. He performed every humble service — from preparing food to caring for horses — with the same burning Ishq and submission. He once said: “Had I acted like a son of a Saint, I would never have reached such a status. When I removed the pride of being a son of a Saint from my innerself, I found the destination.”
Spreading the Beneficence of Ism-e-Allah Zaat
Sultan Mohammad Asghar Ali dedicated his entire life to spreading the beneficence of Ism-e-Allah Zaat among the masses. He declared it unlawful to hide Ism-e-Azam and made it obligatory to reveal it. He granted Ism-e-Allah Zaat to lakhs of people, transforming depraved hearts into shining mirrors of Divine light. He established the Islahi Jamat on February 27, 1989 — an organisation whose sole mission was the reformation and spiritual elevation of humanity.
The Transfer of the Divine Trust
After twenty years of searching for his true spiritual confidant, Sultan Mohammad Asghar Ali found him and transferred the Divine Trust of Faqr on March 21, 2001 at the sacred tomb of the Holy Prophet ﷺ in Madina — a moment described as the most important event in the life of Sultan-ul-Ashiqeen, Hazrat Sakhi Sultan Mohammad Najib-ur-Rehman Madzillah ul Aqdas, who continues this blessed mission today at Masjid e Zahra, Village Rangeel Pur Sharif, Sundar Adda, Multan Road, Lahore.
