[KASUR, 23 August 2024] – The three-day celebrations of the 267th Urs of the renowned Punjabi Sufi poet Baba Bulleh Shah commenced today in Kasur. The district administration has declared a local holiday on Saturday to accommodate the influx of devotees.
Thousands of people from across the country have gathered in Kasur to pay homage to the mystic poet. The district police have implemented stringent security measures, including walkthrough gates and CCTV surveillance, to ensure the safety of attendees. Parking arrangements have been made at a safe distance to prevent disruptions during the Urs activities.
The Local Auqaf and Religious Affairs Committee will provide support to devotees and distribute free food. Deputy Commissioner Aurangzaib Haider and District Police Officer Essa Khan inspected the shrine on Thursday to review preparations. The DC directed all relevant departments, including Rescue 1122, to stay vigilant throughout the celebrations.
